Hosting the EAAE AC/GA 2026 in Sardinia means not only discussing the potential of small- and medium-scale interventions, but also engaging with this dimension through direct observation and embodied experience of the relationships between built form, landscape, and community.

Self-guided & Free Tour / afternoon
Cittadella dei Musei – Pinacoteca – Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Cagliari

This self-guided tour offers participants an introduction to the historical and cultural landscape of Cagliari through some of the city’s most important museum institutions, whose collections span from prehistoric Sardinia to medieval and early modern periods. Participants will receive a map and itinerary at the registration desk open from 3:00 PM and may freely explore the sites before the Opening Ceremony at 5:00 PM.

Masua – Porto Flavia – Carbonia
Limited to 55 participants

This guided tour explores the extraordinary mining landscapes of south-western Sardinia, where industrial archaeology, infrastructure, and territory merge into a unique cultural environment. The itinerary includes visits to Masua and Porto Flavia, the iconic suspended mining port carved into the coastal cliffs, as well as the town of Carbonia, one of Italy’s most significant twentieth-century “città di fondazione”. The tour offers participants the opportunity to reflect on landscape transformations connecting Sardinia’s industrial heritage with broader questions of architecture, territory, and social history.

Pozzo di Santa Cristina – Nuraghe Losa
Limited to 55 participants

This guided tour explores the ancient landscapes of Sardinia through two of the island’s most remarkable Nuragic archaeological sites. The itinerary includes the sacred well of Santa Cristina, an extraordinary example of Nuragic architecture and cosmological design, renowned for its geometric precision and spatial symbolism, and Nuraghe Losa, one of the best-preserved megalithic fortresses in Sardinia. The tour offers participants an immersive experience into the relationship between architecture, ritual, and landscape, highlighting the cultural significance of the island’s archaeological heritage within the Mediterranean context.

Free Guided Tour / morning / distance: 90 min by foot
Su Siccu – Fiera Campionaria – Padiglione Nervi – Parco degli Anelli – Lazzaretto

This walking tour explores the modern and contemporary architectural landscape of Cagliari’s waterfront. The itinerary includes key sites such as the former Fiera Campionaria, the Padiglione Nervi, and the regenerated spaces of Su Siccu and Parco degli Anelli, concluding at the historic Lazzaretto cultural complex. The tour offers participants the opportunity to reflect on contemporary urban transformations, and the evolving identity of Cagliari’s coastal landscape.
